I went with the class to the Newseum to see the presentation about "Meet the Press." We got there early and decided to poke around the museum for a couple of hours before the presentation and saw a large majority of the exhibits. The helicopter, above, was one of the first things that we saw coming in the door, as it was suspended in the middle of the lobby.
Out of all the exhibits that we saw, my favorite one was definitely the one on 9/11 (shown above and below). One of the things that was pretty interesting was that they had all the front page of all the newspapers from throughout the world, and almost all of them had coverage on 9/11. There was also a really compelling story about a photographer who died while covering the fall of the towers.
After seeing most of the exhibits, it was time for us to see the presentation featuring the producer from "Meet the Press." It was a great presentation, and it was also something that was really cool to see as we've had to watch "Meet the Press" for our other journalism class this semester. It was interesting to hear about all that goes into making a segment, and getting to know all the behind the scenes work.
